Selection of concepts & team brainstorm event
During an online brainstorm session we discussed current technical topics with the team members from Ghana. This brought to light a few key aspects based on local insight:
The U-drain has been adjusted to a VU-drain. An issue with the curing process of a compressed drain is the low initial strength. If the walls of the drain are not perpendicular, the odds of damage during curing are minimal. It is also expected that the final strength of this new shape will be greater.
The position of the cables was discussed. Celltel mentioned the position of cables directly underneath or next to the drain is unfavourable. It is crucial that the cables are easily accessible at all times. This is more important than a more protected position directly adjecent to the drain.
